2020 Year in Review: EB Knits

What happened in biz in 2020?

I may be late to the party, but I just began to reflect on 2020 on New Year’s Eve. I guess I couldn’t believe the year was finally, actually, coming to a close. It feels good to look back and realize there were some positive points of 2020 personally and I did accomplish some goals this year. But I sure hope 2021 has some relief for the world in store.

What is your top moment of 2020? (Even if its super small.)

Here are a few of my EB Knits-related milestones:

I hand dyed yarn for the first time. (The baskets that I released in the Spring were all hand-painted and I’m still a major fan. Pastel puff baskets are shown here.) Find my post about the entire process here.

Implemented eco-friendly standards, materials + practices. (For more, check out this blog post about why I chose make this transition and here for where I’m at in that process.

Created my first home collection. (Find more deets here.)

Started a YouTube channel. (And I plan to do more with it in 2021.)

Made a Tiktok account. (@knit_tok)

Purchased yarn wholesale for the first time.

I made my biz official with a reseller + sales tax permit.

Reached out to local small shops to stock EB Knits. (And Grayt Finds in New Lenox stocked my items, but has since closed.)

Used 100% natural or recycled materials all year. (I’m so proud of this one!)

Prioritized supporting my fellow small shops. (Another major component I’m incredibly proud of!)

Released my most new products ever. (With tons more coming in 2021)

Updated my website. (What do you think?!)

Improved my photo editing skills with Lightroom.

Wrote blog posts regularly. (Published blog posts every Tuesday most of 2020, however recently switched to two posts per month.)

Started my monthly newsletter. (Sign up here.)

My most successful year to date. THANK YOU!

Bestsellers

The top five bestselling EB Knits accessories are pictured below. The most popular items proved to be holiday decor and hot items on social media!

Most popular posts on social media

The top nine most popular posts of the year were all photos of my finished handknit garments. Apparently you like pictures of my handmade garments just as much as I do! That feels awesome to know and I'll definitely share more with you in 2021. Take a look at the top nine posts in a collage format below; the numbers are the number of likes for that particular post.

I had to double check the dates on a few of the posts because it feels like years, not months, ago that I knit a few of these (the middle pic and the purple short sleeve cardigan I did finish at the end of 2020 though)
