Eco Bags in the EB Knits Shop

This year I'm adding purposeful and eco-friendly products from companies that I believe in into the shop and up first are a variety of bags from Eco Bags! Eco Bags prioritizes fair living and wage practices for their workers and their products are made from cotton, often organic or recycled, which aligns well with my focus on ethical and eco-friendly accessories. Eco Bags bring unique products that are environmentally-conscious. I love writing blog posts about the latest simple eco-friendly tips that I've discovered and now tested out a variety of bags, found ones I love and you can grab these plastic-free products here in the shop now!

A few anecdotes from Ecobag’s website:

“Our mission is to offer thoughtful, ethically and sustainably sourced, durable-reusable bags that inspire people to reduce, reuse, recycle and re-imagine the world we live in. We believe that less can be more. We are passionate about living greener, simpler and more abundant lives.”

“Our business choices are driven by two age-old sayings… "Leave no trace," and "Do no harm." Our guiding philosophy is our belief that everyone can make their own best effort to live lightly on the earth and live more gently with each other. We believe we can be agents of this change; that we can continue to influence culture by responsibly making goods that invite conversation and inspire the change we want to see in the world.“ - EcoBags website

Ice Dye Cotton + Jute bags

These are my favorite of all the latest EcoBags additions because I was able to place my own personal stamp on them through ice dying! I’ve known ever since late 2020 that I wanted to somehow incorporate ice dying into EB Knits since I had so much fun with it then, and I think I’ve finally discovered a great way! By ice dying these bags, I stick with the overall theme of my shop which is handmade accessories with a pop of color (check, check and check) PLUS they’re all one-of-a-kind!

While it’s taken many attempts to determine the best technique to use so that I don’t get dye everywhere, I think I’ve finally discovered the best way to dye these bags and hope you like them as well! Because I would be thrilled to add more of these to the shop and experiment with more color options if you tell you like the idea as well!

String bags

Net, or string, bags have been on my mind for more than a year to add to the shop! My initial idea was to crochet them myself, but I never felt excited about it, but I definitely liked the style of them. So when I discovered how transportable, sturdy and reliable, EcoBag’s string bags are, I knew I wanted to add them to the EB Knits shop! I mean I stuffed EIGHT books in the bag and still feel like there’s room to add more plus I wasn’t at all worried about it breaking! I was shocked and am incredibly impressed with the bags’ durability! I love how much they can hold, how they stretch to fit its contents AND how easy they are to fold up and fit in your pocket if necessary.

The natural color is perfect for any neutral fans, but the fun colorful options would look so cute on your arm at the farmer’s market this summer or at the beach!

Produce bags

I used to cringe every time I went to the grocery store and placed my fruits and vegetables in one of those single use plastic bags stores have in every produce section because I felt like I was wasting so much plastic. But once I finally invested in a set of produce bags, I feel like I’m making a small difference. And I absolutely love this specific set because it includes three different sizes PLUS adorable illustrations that I just can’t get enough of!
