5 Simple eco-friendly adjustments in your everyday life

Did you know… Synthetic fibers are ultimately plastic? Yep, most of our clothes and products made of synthetic fibers like nylon, acrylic, polyester, etc are made from chemicals that alter strands of plastic into these fabrics. Once I realized this, I immediately decided to experiment with and implement natural fibers into EB Knits and my own life. I’ve written a couple of blog posts about how I’ve implemented eco-friendly fibers and practices into EB Knits, but now let’s get more personal.

Honestly I never realized how much plastic I use in everyday life. However, over the last year or so, I’ve consciously tried to reuse bags and choose natural items to implement in my lifestyle. In fact, a friend on Facebook recommend an app called My Little Plastic Footprint that includes tons of recommendations on how to switch up your plastic usage in every room of your house.

I included direct links to some of these products that I’m either familiar with or that have been recommended to me from ethical and eco-friendly minded businesses! Many of these items you can find on amazon or at target with a quick search, but I’ve linked directly to some small shops as well!

I also created an eco-friendly board on Pinterest for ideas on how to continue to implement new eco-friendly strategies into your lifestyle, which you can find here: Pin board eco-friendly lifestyle

Replace throwaway wipes, single use cotton rounds and cotton balls with reusable makeup remover face scrubbies like these from me!

Toss a handful of these natural wool dryer balls in with your laundry instead of using dryer sheets. These are great because they last for years and are completely natural so you don’t release any chemicals or additives into your family’s clothes.

Bamboo toothbrush

“Bamboo toothbrushes are quickly becoming a staple in many households, not only because they're naturally antimicrobial, but also because of their eco-friendliness and biodegradability.” - Bustle

Instead of throwing snacks and sandwiches into single use plastic bags, pick up some cute reusable ones! Save the environment and bring some fun into your lunch bag.

Refillable travel size bottles

“Don’t use travel-size shampoo and conditioner. These containers are single-use, and it is so much earth-friendlier to pack something you can use repeatedly.” - HuffPost
