I’m a HUGE fan of supporting small business. I know, as a small business owner myself, how wonderful it feels to receive an order, to feel so proud and excited that someone invested their dollars in my talent and time. You know those meme’s that say a small business owner does a happy dance every time they get an order? That’s literally true! So I try to support small businesses myself any time that I can and the holiday season is one of the best times to shop small. Etsy is a favorite of mine to discover new small shops so I’ve rounded up some selections directly from Etsy for ideas when gifting or to treat yourself this holiday season!

Etsy’s editors also compiled a few holiday gift guides, that you can find here. I loved browsing through their eco-friendly selections here! (Also, did you know Etsy balances the carbon emissions from every order shipped to help the environment as well? I love that initiative!)

If you like my suggestions, I created several gift guides throughout this year and you can browse those here for further suggestions!

Small Shop Ideas this Holiday Season

Functional yet perhaps a home item you’ve procrastinated purchasing? My hand is raised! I think these would be perfect for scrubbing your dishes clean instead of disposable sponges and they’re so cute and colorful!

Two eco-friendly home items in a row… (hint, these home type items are what I’d love for the holidays!) There are so many eco-friendly products I’d love to implement into my home and everyday life and these are another colorful and cute example!

These coasters are from my own shop, EB Knits, and are my best-selling Fringe Coasters! They’re new this year and have received the most love. Made with organic cotton, they’re a perfect eco-friendly stocking stuffer!

Are you over the DIY this year? I’m still a huge fan and don’t know if I’ll ever get over it and if you’re like me, this indigo dye kit is a great idea! The finished objects turn out very boho and trendy. I’ve tried other dye styles this year and want to try several more, especially this one-of-a-kind technique!

This cute is so cute and colorful and the threads included are hand dyed with plants in Chile! This is another amazing DIY idea for someone looking to explore a new craft or add a one-of-a-kind item to their home. (You can probably tell I’m a fiber artist with these last two DIY’s.)

2020 has been a year, to say the least and maybe you want to exclude any reminder of it from your holiday gifts, but if you want to elevate your face mask game and bring an extra special option to your wardrobe, this sparkle mask is bound to make the recipient feel extra confident! This shop creates several high-end options if you want to treat someone to an extra special mask.

If you’re sending a holiday card during this long-distance holiday season, Cula Creative, based in Chicago, creates funny cards like these!

Can you say breathtaking?? I’ve never seen a jewelry dish quite like this. I’ve had several guests inquire about jewelry dishes in my retail position and this is spot on as a gift!

Do you have a music lover in your life? This artwork idea could be perfect for them! The shop has tons of great reviews additional options to incorporate a photo into the sound wave.

I had to add one more DIY because candle-making has been on my radar since I saw an IG influencer maker her own earlier this year! This set includes everything you need to make your own candles (except for the microwave and oven mitts) and it also includes several different options to truly make them your own. The box also focuses on gratitude and bonding with family and friends through a few fun extras!

I discovered this shop through Instagram and has to include them here because I love the initiatives in the shop. All of the products are sourced makers across the world to support fair labor practices and high quality craftsmanship! Here’s a little more about this item: “This gorgeous fringe wall hanging is handwoven by our artisan collective in Morocco. It's sustainably made with dried palm leaves.” -Tate and Tiegs description

Pictures are not my own. They belong to each shop listed and were downloaded from each Etsy shop. Have a happy and safe holiday season, friends! Thank you for using my links and supporting small!
